SSEVI, Chica y Perro (Faltan Fotos)
Developed in 2023, the S.S. VI (Sound System VI), nicknamed "La Chica y el Perro" (The Girl and the Dog), is one of the most conceptually playful and formally distinct pieces in the studio's loudspeaker collection. This dual-unit system explores the relationship between two different volumes and heights, creating a figurative "dialogue" through sound that mirrors the companionship implied by its name.
The design team utilized the signature upcycled poplar plywood stock, originally from the Materia Gris exhibition, to construct these two distinct cabinets. By maintaining the studio's "pro-cycling" ethos, the pieces are built with a dismountable logic: assembled using heat-blackened screws, finished with a water-based varnish, and completely free of industrial glues. This approach ensures that the narrative of the material—reclaimed from a cultural institution—remains intact and circular.
Technically, La Chica y el Perro is a high-definition 3-way system designed for spatial clarity. Each unit is integrated into a coordinated acoustic field, featuring:
High-end B&C speakers for precision and durability.
Crown 2500 stereo power amplifier, delivering a robust 1000 RMS watts.
HD Bluetooth audio signal reception (supporting SBC and aptX codecs) with a 30m range, allowing for seamless integration into contemporary wireless environments.
100% recycled textile geopanels for internal acoustic insulation, providing a warm and controlled resonance.
As part of the "collections" category, the S.S. VI stands out for its unique proportions. The two-part configuration allows the studio to play with sound distribution, making it an ideal choice for spaces that require both a visual statement and a sophisticated, multi-directional audio experience. It is a testament to how the team bridges the gap between sculptural objecthood and professional audio engineering.
