Developed in 2023, the S.S. V (Sound System V), nicknamed "Wall-E", was specifically created for the DOPO? / Laboro space in Milan. This model represents a shift in the studio's sound collection towards a more compact and mobile typology, designed to serve a multi-functional creative hub where flexibility and high-performance audio are equally essential.

The design team conceptualized Wall-E as a robust "audio companion." Utilizing the collection’s signature upcycled poplar plywood—reclaimed from the Materia Gris exhibition stock—the cabinet's geometry is both functional and expressive. True to the studio’s technical dogmas, the piece is assembled without the use of adhesives, relying on heat-blackened screws and finished with a water-based varnish. This construction method ensures that the object is not only durable for a busy workshop environment but also entirely circular and dismountable.

On a technical level, the S.S. V is a high-definition 3-way sound system that delivers a powerful and precise sonic output. It is equipped with high-end B&C speakers and a Crown 2500 stereo power amplifier, providing 1000 RMS watts of power. To manage internal resonance within its more contained volume, the studio integrated 100% recycled textile geopanels, achieving a professional-grade acoustic response that can handle the diverse needs of the DOPO? community—from focused work sessions to experimental performances.

As part of the "collections" scale, Wall-E exemplifies how the studio’s sound research adapts to specific cultural contexts. By providing a high-fidelity "sonic heart" to a collaborative space in Milan, the team continues to demonstrate that industrial reclamation and advanced audio engineering can coexist to enhance the sensory quality of our shared work environments.
