Developed in 2022 for the Mayrit Design Biennial in Madrid, ESCENA is an exhibition project that explores the intersection between graphic design and music production in Spain. The studio was responsible for both the exhibition design and the sound system, creating an immersive environment where visual and auditory codes dialogue to define the current aesthetic of the country's music scene.

The design team approached the project as an exercise in "visual and sonic cartography." The exhibition showcases a curated selection of graphic pieces—from record covers to digital "drops"—identifying common traits in an era where the boundaries between amateur and professional, or mainstream and experimental, are increasingly blurred. To support this narrative, the studio integrated one of its signature sound systems, ensuring that the high-fidelity acoustic experience was as central to the exhibition as the visual content.

Consistent with the studio’s commitment to sustainable and functional design, the exhibition layout was conceived to facilitate the flow of visitors while creating an archive-like atmosphere. The project serves as a tool to document the people behind the visual identity of Spanish music, highlighting how eclectic references and globalized visual culture have triggered a new aesthetic paradigm.

As part of the Mayrit Biennial, ESCENA demonstrates the studio’s ability to curate complex cultural dialogues. By designing both the physical space and the sonic atmosphere, the team transformed the exhibition into a living archive, proving that contemporary design is not just about objects, but about creating the right frameworks to understand our current cultural production.
