Infinito Delicias
For the Infinito Delicias project, a new cultural center in Madrid that is open since last 2025 winter, Lucas Muñoz Muñoz and his ex-Debris workshop designed all the furniture and lighting for the public spaces. To achieve this, they maintained the core principles of the architectural project led by Husos and Elii (Huselii) studios, incorporating materials such as sprayed cork and pine plywood. Furthermore, following the on-site reuse and urban mining practices characteristic of the Madrid-based studio's work, they collected scraps and offcuts of plywood and particleboard from the wall and ceiling panels to create all the furniture for the restaurant and common areas. Additionally, most of the lighting fixtures were made from expanded polystyrene salvaged from Madrid's streets. Also noteworthy:
UNMAR Restaurant
- Furniture: Made using a system that reclaims leftover wood scraps from the building's construction (OSB sandwich panels and pine plywood). A construction system of triangular profiles was created to deploy long, narrow scraps. The internal structures of the tables use reclaimed solid beams offcuts, and the upholstery is 100% recyclable polyester.
- Ceiling Lights: A version of the main hall's warehouse lighting system, adapted to the restaurant's height. They operate on a movable balance with a galvanised steel tube, a spotlight, and a photographic reflector that projects a diffused, golden light.
- Bar Lamps and Wall Lights: Made of PULP, a translucent material developed by ex-Debris workshop from expanded polystyrene recovered from the streets of Madrid and processed with lemon peel extract.
- Small Lamps: Battery-powered table lamps (USB-C charging). The body is made of PULP material with a base and top made of printed ceramic.
- Bottle rack: Constructed from standard electrical conduit, joined without chemicals or screws, just removable staples to allow for reuse.
- Bar: Replicates the construction system of the building's original vaulted ceiling, highlighting its industrial past.
Main Warehouse
- Lamps with photographic reflectors: Located in the courtyard and the main hall, these lamps use photographic reflectors balanced on bearing systems and standard steel parts. The light bounces off the reflectors, creating a "liquid" light effect that emulates the sun's passage through the trees.
- Furniture with sprayed cork: Pieces made from scraps of low-quality structural OSB. The design allows for adapting the dimensions to the available scraps to minimise waste, with a final sprayed cork finish that unifies the collection with the building's walls.
- Hanging Gardens: Nine self-contained hydroponic systems suspended in the central courtyard for growing leafy greens. They feature full-spectrum LED lighting and automated systems, functioning as lamps, gardens, and sculptural pieces.
Library/Reception
- Central Table: Functions as a technical island with integrated connections. It's a modular design with retractable leaves that allow it to be reduced in size for storage under the stairs.
- PULP Lamps: Made from PULP, a translucent material developed by my studio from expanded polystyrene recovered from the streets of Madrid and processed with lemon peel extract.
Beta Kitchen
Designed as a modular system, it allows for multiple combinations of table heights and lighting and shelf configurations so that each Beta kitchen tenant can adapt the space to their culinary project.
